Fees - General information
There is a gap (out of pocket) fee for most consultations provided at Westside Medical Centre.
This includes:
- Aged Pension Card holders
- Disability Pension Card holders
- Health Care Card holders
- Children 6 years and older
Bulk-billed visits
We bulk-bill some types of appointments.
- Appointments for DVA Gold or White Card holders
- Appointments for children under 6 years of age
- All childhood immunisations
- Appointments with a nurse only (e.g., cervical screening, injection or a wound dressing)
- Covid and Flu vaccine clinics
- Chronic disease management consultations, such as yearly care plans, 3-6 monthly care plan reviews, and annual health assessments
Medicare safety nets
We strongly encourage all patients to familiarise themselves with Medicare Safety Nets, which can significantly limit your out-of-pocket costs over the course of a calendar year. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-safety-nets
By ensuring your bank account details are registered with Medicare online, your Medicare rebate will be returned to your account within 24 hours of paying your fee at Westside Medical Centre.

Procedures
Procedures attract a $55.65 gap fee for all patients. This includes all biopsies and skin lesion excisions.

For many excisions, we won't know the exact fee until after the specimen has been examined by the pathologist. We will ask you to pay these fees when you come for removal of sutures.
Other procedures fees
Other procedures can attract a total fee of between $75.40 and $323.65 each, with a maximum gap of $55.65 per procedure. This includes but is not limited to venesection, wound repair with stitches or glue, removal of foreign bodies, drainage of haematomas or abscesses, and treatment of ingrown nails.

After Hours Consultations
Westside Medical Centre provides after hours care for our patients at times when the surgery isn't open. This service is operated by a variety of the doctors who normally practice at Westside according to a roster system. The on-call doctor will be able to access the medical records that your usual GP keeps.
The phone service fee will be $115 and if the doctor deems it necessary to see you out of hours, the minimum call-out fee will be $278.20. Medicare rebates will apply for eligible patients.
